UPDATE: All's fine with the eye. It's not completely where it should be yet, so we're in the "watchful waiting" mode. Surgery went well - I was awake the whole time which was freaky. Actually, due to the sleepy meds, I experienced a bunch of waking dreams, of which I only remember one which involved cleaning out my refrigerator.
Anyway, wordy Wed: I don't have time to write a whole post, so thought I'd focus on some misused words that bug me. Today's:
Penultimate.
Some folks like to show off their vocabulary by using this to mean the "most ultimate," which is incorrect and actually causes them to look dumb and pretentious. Penultimate means "next to last." That's all it means.
